It’s a gadget blog.
The first impression is always important, and Gizmodo makes a good one. The logo and colours are very well chosen, making the blog look nice.
I see the blog has some ads from Microsoft, and Nikon, really big and animated ads that disturb me a little.
I don’t really like the way the text is placed on the page, it could have been more clearer and cleaner.
I do like that every post has a picture or a video attached, so every gadget or event is fully presented.
It has more posts on the front page then I personally like, but that’s good for scrolling very fast until you spot something interesting (and I have a feeling that was the whole point). It’s a blog with a high amount of information, so let’s see how it scores.

Gizmodo has been found NOT GUILTY.
I understand and agree with how you came up with some of those numbers (yes, it’s popular, very informative, the design’s decent, etc), but I have to give it a flat-out GUILTY due to the number of adult-only and NSFW posts they make without regard to their readership and without warning. As you’ve said, it’s a popular blog, but with that popularity they should show responsibility in what is posted and how things are posted.

Maybe when this blog will be bigger I’ll add new review points like “what is that blog about”.
For now I can’t say I should judge the blogs for what they write, because I’m not sure if a blog about Cooking is better then a blog about Computer Games.
